A/B split links: test landing pages with one short link

Send a share of the clicks on one link to each page you're testing, then compare clicks per variant.

Test without touching your site

Want to know whether a new landing page, offer, or signup flow does better? Put one Gajo link in your email, ad, or post, and split its traffic between the versions. There's no code to add to your pages, and you can change the split or the destinations at any time without changing the link.

How it works

  1. Create an A/B template Name your variants (for example Control and New-Design) and give each a share of traffic. The shares add up to 100%, such as 50/50 or 80/20.
  2. Connect it to a link In the Route Builder, attach the template to a short link and enter the page for each variant.
  3. Compare the results The link's analytics show how many clicks each variant received. Bots and link previews aren't counted.

How visitors are split: each click is assigned to a variant independently, using your percentages. Someone who clicks twice may see different variants. Measure conversions on your pages, for example with a UTM parameter or path per variant, to see which one wins.

Run tests from the API

Create a reusable A/B template:

curl -X POST https://gajo.io/api/v1/ab-templates \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "name": "homepage-test",
    "variants": [
      { "variantName": "Control", "splitPercentage": 50 },
      { "variantName": "New-Design", "splitPercentage": 50 }
    ]
  }'

Bind it to a link, with a destination for each variant:

curl -X POST https://gajo.io/api/v1/urls/YOUR_CODE/binding \
  -H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "templateType": "AbTest",
    "templateName": "homepage-test",
    "endpoints": [
      { "slotKey": "Control", "targetUrl": "https://example.com/?utm_content=control" },
      { "slotKey": "New-Design", "targetUrl": "https://example.com/v2?utm_content=new-design" }
    ]
  }'

A/B endpoints need a Pro API key. See the API docs for the full reference.
